Buying a House?

This is the best of the little neglected Victorian house I have an offer in on in Maysville. Pressed tin ceilings, those windows look out at the Ohio River Valley, quaint, and a cute as can be, BUT there is a 10 page list of problems from the house inspection! To be expected with a house this age. Lots of little things and BIG things wrong with it but I'm going for it.

Here's a picture of the kind of mix of lovely and dangerous. No furnace, big old gas heaters, but check out that beautiful mantle behind! The plan would be to replace Mr. Gas Heat Monster with a new cast iron gas heater that resembles a wood stove, there are some really beautiful ones available.

This is pressed tin on the little kitchen, walls and ceilings are done. No counter space, really none, so this will be a big change for someone who can't even find their counters now because of all the stuff piled on them! There is a row of windows in here looking out at the River Valley too.

Cute little bathroom (potentially cute) tucked under the stairs. Lots of work but I think it will be awesome and just the kind of place that will inspire me in my effort to create my new life filled with art.

View from the side lot that will someday be a garden.

My High Tech Broom

Oh I love my little red car. While driving a feeling of freedom flows over me, it's been so long since I could get more than 10 miles away. Now I'm flying back and forth to Kentucky looking for that house with the river view. It's my little high tech broom stick, it takes me where I want to go, it plays music while I drive, wow, I have more than a radio with two tiny speakers now, I can listen to whatever I want, sing, whistle, hum along as I travel down the road. My old car got better gas mileage though, it topped out at 49 mpg but this is close, 42 mpg ain't bad!
