Tiny Garden for a Friend

Part of the nasty "before" mess.


Not sure why but I gravitate to this space. The first time I stood down here after buying the house I just couldn't accept that this mess was also a part of my house- it was filthy with dog doo and garbage and just overwhelmed me. But, I loved the breeze, the tiny bit of river view and the old rock retaining wall. Now, after 6 weeks of working inside the house and making real progress we had a little time to make a start on this area. The little garden area was a filthy mud pit with perhaps two weeds in it. My friend who was visiting created the little garden. Despite the 90+ degree heat it was cool and welcoming here today.
